Anakie State School is located west of Emerald in the well-known 'gem fields’ area. Throughout its history the school has fluctuated in size and currently sits around 110 students. Students come to the school from surrounding communities of Rubyvale, Sapphire, the Willows and Emerald.
As a school we set high expectations for student learning, student behaviour and curriculum delivery. In 2013, we have set down our charter of expectations for the whole school.
Charter of school expectations
Teachers believe that all students can achieve high academic results.
Teachers believe that all students matter, everyday.
Teachers share collective accountability for all student outcomes.
Curriculum delivery is underpinned by explicit instruction pedagogy.
We have a school culture of high expectations:
Overseeing the schools charter are the 4 pillars of learning that we strive to uphold.
The 4 pillars of our school
Teacher accountable learning
Explicit instruction pedagogy
Moving student knowledge from short term to long term memory
Effective relationships between teachers and students
Through the development and implementation of these standards we have seen and hope to continue to see wonderful improvements in our students both personally and academically.
