At Anakie State School the Health and Physical Education Program was developed based on the interests of the local community as well as the requirements of school sporting events.
Students are given opportunities to individually and collaboratively make decisions, apply skills and take action to promote their own and others' health and wellbeing, movement capacities and personal development. They reflect on their learning and on the importance of health and physical education in everyday situations.
Every year we hold a school cross country race and inter house athletics carnival. These are wonderful days were students compete for their houses, Sapphire and Zircon. The school enters a mixed grade touch football team in the Emerald junior touch competition every year and always competes very well against the other schools.
Students with sporting ability are encouraged to compete at representative levels and some funding is given to these students by the P&C association to offset nomination costs.
