GemFest 2009
Anakie State School students attended the Grand Opening of GemFest 2009. The Senior Dance Crew performed a dance and the 1/2/3's sang two songs for the audience.
Easter Hat Parade
All the students had fun creating an Easter bonnet and a special parade was held to celebrate the start of the Easter Holidays.
Under 8's Day!
To help celebrate all things great about kids under eight, the Preps to Threes attended a special day at Lochington State School. We had our faces painted, made clay animals and had fun doing lots of craft activities. Everyone had an awesome time!

Steve and Troy from Camp Fairbairn brought out 2 telescopes to help us view the Moon, Saturn,
Science Week Celebrations
The 4/5 class conducted several scientific experiments for the rest of the school at lunch times during Education Queensland's Spotlight on Science Week.
Anakie Dam Reserve Plans
The year 4/5 students' created models of the Anakie Dam Reserve depicting the improvements they would like at the Reserve. The Mayor, Peter Maguire, accepted their invitation to come out, viewed their models and provide the students with information about local councils and its roles and responsibilities.
